Elland-based Orchard Energy is a fast-growing utility management company specialising in energy purchasing, energy solutions and water management for businesses across the UK. It was acquired by Kinect Energy Group, part of World Fuel Services in 2017

Faith PR was tasked by Orchard Energy to help boost its profile through delivering strategic communications:

  • Raise awareness and communicate its expertise across a broad target audience to generate new business
  • Capitalise on the water deregulation market in England and Wales
  • Support recruitment drive and highlight positive impact on the local community
  • Develop and implement a social media strategy that communicates key messages across a wide target


Position Orchard Energy as a transparent and trustworthy broker and the go-to on all things relating to energy and water, with PR activity focused on key areas of growth:

  • Local businesses close to its five regional offices
  • Education
  • Businesses, including retail, leisure and manufacturing
  • Energy sector

We delivered a range of day-to-day PR activity for them, providing a constant ‘drip feed’ of relevant news, tailored for local and regional media, generated a spread of coverage across England and Scotland. Orchard’s sound knowledge of the energy market enabled us to utilise key legislations and how they affect businesses, to develop advisory media alerts. Water deregulation activity provided us with a platform for thought leadership content within key industry titles and local media.

We also created and implemented a social media strategy with the aim of driving traffic to the website and increasing leads. We created content specifically for the company’s target audience, taking a creative and informative approach to make a relatively dry subject matter engaging. In-depth monthly reporting allowed us to measure the effectiveness of the activity. Twitter and LinkedIn showcased client success stories, shared relevant market news, recruitment opportunities and promoted Orchard’s services and the water deregulation, including links to the website.
