Business event to provide insight into the Mid Yorkshire economy
Business owners and directors from across the districts of Halifax, Huddersfield and Wakefield will come together on 7 February for a special networking breakfast hosted by the Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, to highlight the latest economic updates from the UK and across the Mid Yorkshire region.
The latest Quarterly Economic Survey results recently published by the Chamber, found that uncertainties around Brexit slowed consumer spend and contributed to a decline in business confidence in the last quarter. This will be further explored at the event, with speakers providing insight into what it means for the region’s economy, in comparison to the national survey results.
Those attending the event, hosted at Manor House Lindley, will also have an opportunity to hear from speakers such as Charles Brook of Poppleton & Appleby and David Wright of Mercia Asset Management and the Northern Powerhouse Development Fund. There will also be an update on the Kirklees Economic Strategy from the Economic Service Director of Kirklees Council, Angela Blake, as well as a panel Q&A session for delegates to learn more.
Commenting on the event, Managing Director of the Mid Yorkshire Chamber, Martin Hathaway comments: “We urge business owners and directors who wish to understand how the region performed and compared to the national economy in the last quarter, to attend this event. Delegates will also be able to engage in open discussion with key local policy-makers and learn how they can maximise local opportunities to support their business growth.”
Taking place on Friday 7 February from 8am until 10am, the networking breakfast forms part of the Quarterly Economic series organised by the Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce across the districts of Halifax, Huddersfield and Wakefield.
Tickets are £10 for members of the Chamber of Commerce and £20 for non-members and can be booked via EventBrite: https://bit.ly/392yZDX30th January 2020
